- NSW Coal and Gas Strategy
- The NSW Government is inviting feedback from community and industry on the directions and issues to be addressed in a coal and gas strategy for NSW.
The Department of Planning is leading the preparation of the strategy with assistance from all key Government agencies including Treasury, Health, Environment, and Industry and Investment NSW, as well as community, industry and other stakeholder input.
- Social Impact of Mining Survey
- This survey is being undertaken by an independent research team at the Queensland University of Technology, to assess the impacts of mining development on local and regional communities. Survey results at a community level will be shared with collaborating partners - Mining Communities United (www.miningcommunities.com.au). Aggregate results will be shared with the public, industry, government and other key stakeholders. Over the last decade there have been many changes in the way the mining and minerals industry source labour and extract energy resources.
