NSW Coal and Gas Strategy
The NSW Government is inviting feedback from community and industry on the directions and issues to be addressed in a coal and gas strategy for NSW.

The Department of Planning is leading the preparation of the strategy with assistance from all key Government agencies including Treasury, Health, Environment, and Industry and Investment NSW, as well as community, industry and other stakeholder input.

Social Impact of Mining Survey
This survey is being undertaken by an independent research team at the Queensland University of Technology, to assess the impacts of mining development on local and regional communities. Survey results at a community level will be shared with collaborating partners - Mining Communities United (www.miningcommunities.com.au). Aggregate results will be shared with the public, industry, government and other key stakeholders. Over the last decade there have been many changes in the way the mining and minerals industry source labour and extract energy resources.

How to write a law reform submission - Environmental Law Online
When governments are developing new legislation or amending existing legislation it is very important that they hear views from a range of stakeholders, including the community. A good way to put forward your case in a meaningful way is to write a submission to government outlining your views on the proposed law and how it could be improved. You do not need to have any particular legal expertise to do this - submissions do not have to be overly technical or legal to be effective.

I've meet John & Drew at the Climate Summit down here in Melbourne. I'm very active in the Environment & Climate Action Movements in Victoria, as well as on the Pastoral Committee for our Church & on the Board of Green Faith Australia an environmental interfaith group. My in-laws are Gippsland farmers in the Wilsons Prom District. So I care about this issue. I will be raising Fracking with the Victorian EPA this week at our scheduled meeting.
